Minted Management are born. A tough talking street urchin, an ex supermodel turned LA divorcee and a Nigerian prince unite to take on the world of entertainment and get their clients to the absolute summit. Unfortunately they all appear to be lying to each other and even themselves. They also have a formidable foe determined to take them down by any means necessary.

Cardiff Bay or ‘Bute Town’ is the setting as the local community all bump along trying to make ends meet in the most creative of ways. Usually outside of the law, possibly by foul means rather than fair and always with a massive dollop of belly laughs.

Following a terrifying assault, a young city professional is forced to re-assess her life. She re-locates to an isolated town in search of her biological father, but when murder follows her, she is forced to examine her own conscience: is she a victim of terrible circumstance or the mistress of her own inevitable fate?

At first Luke has a ball meeting the models, directing the photo shoots and even writing the raunchy readers’ letters, but the girl that really stokes his interest is the staff receptionist TINA, a former scandal mistress who sold her story years earlier to Gretchen’s paper resulting in the sacking of a cabinet minister. Gretchen decides to target Tina as the story’s angle.

Luke attempts to get close to Tina, but soon discovers that she is not the malicious “Mucky Mistress” portrayed by the media at all, but actually the victim of an elaborate plot to discredit a popular politician by his treacherous opponents.

When Tina discovers the nice new staffer she’d grown so fond of is really an undercover hack, she feels totally betrayed and then, to make matters worse, she mistakenly thinks he has been carrying on with one of the models.

Luke is set up to take a fall, exposed as a reporter in a sensational sex-clusive, arrested for public indecency and booted off Sorted.  Luke then refuses to put Tina through the tabloid wringer and is fired by Gretchen when he refuses to deliver his story.

When Tina learns that Luke was really there for her she decides to track him down and to her great surprise, finds the once ruthless hack assisting her invalid father with his industrial injury dispute. He has organised a publicity stunt for her dad’s cronies by enrolling the whole emphysema sufferers group in the London Marathon.

Luke publicly apologises to Tina, proves to her that he has seen the error of his ways and is now determined to use his talents to right wrongs. The two former scandal merchants finally unite to embark on a front page free life together.

Twenty8k, an exciting thriller and the second feature from the company has just completed. Written by Emmy and Bafta winner Paul Abbott, the film stars Parminder Nagra (Bend it Like Beckham, ER), Kaya Scodelario (Wuthering Heights, Skins), Stephen Dillane (The Hours, Savage Grace), Michael Socha (This is England, Being Human), Nichola Burley (Streetdance, Wuthering Heights) and Jonas Armstrong (Robin Hood, The Glass House). The film makes its market premiere in Berlin at the EFM in February 2012.

Formosa Films debut feature, Clubbed, the hip, UK, crime gangster movie was completed in 2008 and released in UK and French cinemas in January 2009. The film has sold to over twenty five international territories and was written by Bafta award winner Geoff Thompson, inspired by his Sunday Times best selling autobiographical book.

The UK DVD release was in May 2009 and was the top selling title in HMV on it’s week of release. As well as charting in most UK retailers, CLUBBED also came out on Sky Box Office and Virgin Filmflex (where it was a best seller) as well as on a number of internet download services such as i-Tunes, Coolroom and Lovefilm.

A new film with a great future, one that raises the bar and changes the landscape, with the chance to rekindle Brit film has finally sprung up.

Founders Neil Thompson and Martin Carr have worked with leading British talent including director Danny Boyle (“Slumdog Millionaire”, “28 Days Later”, “Trainspotting”), writer Paul Abbott (“Shameless”, “State of Play”, “Clocking Off”) and Jim Cartwright (“Little Voice”, “Road”) . Between them they have produced a variety of media across all genres including over a hundred and fifty music videos, fifty television commercials, several I-Max features in both 2D and 3D and feature productions for cinema as well as numerous television shows including two prestigious dramas for the BBC.

The company are now putting the finance in place for Top Shelf, an edgy romantic comedy which is the next project scheduled to go in front of the camera. Formosa Films are currently in development on several more feature films and a major television drama.
